Hadouken X

Started working on this for Udon's Megaman Tribute Contest but didn't get around to finishing it to make the deadline. I did manage to submit 2 other pieces though.

This is Megaman X with the power upgrade to perform hadoukens. This was great, it took out robot masters with one hit.

Sprinterz Studio Shop

Check Out the new Sprinterz Studio Shop! When I first designed the Sprinterz logo, I did it to express my love for track as an ex-sprinter and my love for the arts. I may not sprint anymore due to my dedication to the arts but I do try to keep up by still going out to run. I wanted to share my logo with other sprinters and all lovers of track runners and runners alike so they too can connect and represent their love for running and sprinting. So this is to them and all those who follow my art. Check out and grab a sprinterz tee today through the Sprinterz Studio website or on this link.

Happy V-Day 2011!

Something I did last year, figure I'd share it on the blog on this day. An illustration that tells of a action/romantic tale. This is something off of Disney's animation "Jake Long-American Dragon". I thought it was a bit interesting because of the romantic aspect of the story. It's your classic Batman vs. Catwoman romance.

Jake Long is a teenager who transforms into a dragon to protect the fantasy world from the Huts Clan. His love interest Rose is secretly a.k.a Huts Girl, member of the Huts Clan and a slayer of dragons. They eventually find out of each others secrete identities and their secrete lives conflict with their romantic relationship. Rose is especially conflicted because the Huts Clan is the only family she ever knew.
When Jake discovers that the Huts Clan kidnapped Rose from her real family as an infant to join their clan, he makes a magic wish to prevent her from ever being kidnapped which resulted in them never meeting. Jake does find her again on the other side of the world later in the story. After convincing the new Rose that they once knew each other in a altered life. Jake and Rose team up to fight against the new villain of the series, an evil dragon.

It's never known if the two ever got back together, unless they did that long distance thing. Happy V-Day!

Oldies Ideas 3: School's Adventures

Another Oldies Ideas from my youth. About the last idea for a comic I came up with when I was young. This was a personal, fun project with a cartoon style I put together at school.
School's Adventures was a journal based comic about events that took place between friends and I in grade school. The idea was to find ways to make school fun. I even made a few short stories to keep things interesting along with some of the crazy things that went on back then.
Idealistically, School's Adventures is suppose to have an 80's and early 90's feel to it. Things that inspired me for this at the time were movies like "The Breakfast Club", "Better off Dead", "Three O'clock High" and shows like "The Wonder Years" with Fred Savage and "Saved By The Bell", along with a lot of 80's music. These are old, I wonder if anyone knows or remember these.
The comic was drawn in a composition notebook I always carried around at school hence the reason for a composition cover here. This book was especially special to me because it held a lot of good times, fun, nostalgic memories.

Odies Idesas 2: SPIKEMAN!

My second idea for a comic as a kid was Spikeman, 1989. Doing this drawing really brings it back. When I first started working on this, I started out just writing books with a few drawings. I had completed two books but then I thought, why am I writing books, this really should be a comic. I then completed 3 comics of Spikeman and even went so far to make copies with the help of my aunt and her copying machine to sell at my school. I remember making 10 dollars in 93' from selling those at 75 cents a piece. So Spikeman became a bit popular in grade school.

Spikeman is about a guy who gets struck by a powerful crystal that fell from the sky. The crystal then gives him super strength and he decides to use that strength to fight crime. He is then visited by an alien, who for some reason at the time I decided to call "The Alien" but for now I think I will call him Spitarnes. Spitarnes reveals that the crystal originated from his home world Planet Spikecon, a world made up of impenetrable razor sharp crystals that can cut through anything in the known universe. Spitarnes needs the crystal(Spikecon Crystal) back to prevent an evil alien race from getting to it. Unfortunately the Spikecon Crystal has the effect to be absorbed into Human DNA, so it can not be returned. Spitarness then realizes that it's best this way to prevent evil from getting to it. Spitarnes then goes on a journey with Spikeman to seek out four other pieces to the crystal across the universe. The four other pieces completes Spikeman's powers of strength, speed, energy, impenetrable armor, and ability to cut through anything. The duo is also aided by Solarflame, a being born out of the core of the sun.

Oldies Ideas: The Last Cops

Well it certainly has been very busy since my last update. So I'm glad to finally have something to show for right now.

A little back story to this drawing. I had stumbled upon some old drawings I did back when I was a kid. It was purely nostalgic to see old drawings and ideas I had as a kid for comic books. It was like seeing old friends I haven't seen in years. So I decided to do just a few new drawings of old ideas I had back then.

The Last Cops was the very first idea I had as a kid for a comic back in 1988. Yea it was THAT long ago, can you believe it. I was inspired to create this through an old animation called "COPS". An animation about police officers in the future. The Last Cops was about a city completely corrupt and over run with crime. The crime rate was so high that it griped the city with absolute fear, so much fear that no one even dared to become a police officer. So a scientist created a mutated shark to become the new police force. He accidental mutated a crab too so the crab and shark became partners. I don't remember their names from back then, so for now lets call them Officer Shark and Officer Shell. For some reason I remember making Officer Shark blind, not sure why I did that but it seemed cool at the time. Later on other animals were mutated to aide the police force. I can hardly remember what the other characters look like, just these two. Sadly I could not find the old comic I made of this.

For Haiti

A tee shirt design I did for Monmouth Worship Center, the church I attend where some of the members are going on mission trip to help Haiti. This was a great opportunity for me to use my skills to give back to my family's native land, so I was very proud to have that chance to give back what God has blessed me with. I was limited to use only two colors, red and white, so it was a little tricky to work with. The blue would be the color of the shirt. All together these colors make the colors of the Haitian flag. This first design will be on the front of the shirt.

And this was the design for the back of the shirt.

I later played around with this design to make it resemble the Haitian flag but this could not be used for the shirt for it'd be difficult to pull off.

The Reason for the Season

So it's been really busy since the last time that I've update anything. But that should change soon. Since it is the holiday season I'm presenting a children book I did back in 2006 called "The Reason for the Season" by Chantal Ellen. It's a cute story about a boy who learns the true meaning to Christmas from his grandmother. You can find a copy of the book on Amazon.com
Happy Holidays Everyone!

Tancredi

This is cover design from my mentor class for the story of Tancredi by Barbara Alberti.
There is a woman named Santina who had a son with two heads. When the boy was baptized the priest named him Tancredi. After many failed attempts of trying to kill him, she finally accepted his life.
Tancredi grew to form two different personalities. One was good, nice and kind to everyone, religious and obedient, the other was dark, evil, violent and disobedient. Dark Tancredi performed many bad deeds and they both would be punished for it. After many bad deeds of the Dark Tancredi, Good Tancredi lost his patience. Out of fear that they both shared the same soul, he feared his soul would be dammed to hell of the other's behavior. He thrusted his stomach with a pin to prevent immoral deeds.
Dark Tandredi became angry at the other one and he strangled him to death. After Dark Tancredi realized he had killed Good Tancredi, he cried for the first time and he regretted what he had done. But it was too late. One of Tancredi's death also meant his own death. For more on the story here is a link
